Stasis is a 2015 science fiction horror game developed and published by The Brotherhood, a South African studio comprised of the brothers Nicolas and Christopher Bischoff.  In the year of its release, it was awarded Adventure Game of the Year by AdventureGamers.com

The plot of the game draws heavily from Event Horizon and Dead Space.  It follows John Maracheck, a family man and school teacher who wakes up from cryostasis on an unknown and apparently abandoned vessel known as "The Groomlake.  Injured, unarmed, and alone, he must search out and rescue his family and escape the dying vessel, all the while learning the horrifying secrets it holds.

Through the course of this episode, we discuss the story and design decisions of Stasis along with James and Kevin Colmar.  We discuss what we think could have been improved, as well as design lessons to take away in our own writing.

Yeah Stasis is a incredible game for just 2(technically 3) guys.
    Its a good little package.
I'm interested to hear more because I enjoyed you guys playing through it and saw many of the issues within it.
Yeah the bad guys, the Bioshock elements definitely connect it thematically with those in a mix.
The ends justify the means is a interesting philosophy especially when done well. But this game didn't handle it spectacularly.

Really why didn't she say anything and just say she lost the one stasis pod for you or something so she could live. Why did she just not say anything and instead be smart like she had been throughout, and just apologize.

The hybrids are super soldiers of some sort? Huh I just assumed they were monkey man hybrids.

That poor crew they are just being ruined 5 ways till Sunday. Well the good people of the crew and many of them were just well awful people, such horrendously awful people.

The atmosphere is great. The Groomlake is a floating city in many ways. They made the place feel like well a place you'd live that got ruined.
Though it makes little sense why and how the places condition got as bad as it is.
How it happened, order, and much more.
Life is Strange is also a fairly good game with many flaws.
The future dystopia is a bit overblown at times.
Thanks for the great podcast guys
